Hillsborough Law

Public Office (Accountability) Bill

Once enacted, the Public Office (Accountability) Bill, otherwise known as the Hillsborough Law Bill, will bring significant changes to inquests and inquiries. This session will explore the anticipated changes and their potential practical implications.

DoLS, Mental Capacity and AGNI

We will consider the Supreme Court’s judgment in the Attorney General of Northern Ireland (AGNI) case concerning deprivation of liberty and what it means for social care providers.
The session will explore what has changed and the practical implications for care delivery, commissioning and regulation.

PACE Questions Under Caution

Once a regulator reaches the stage of raising questions under caution the investigation is well developed and there are almost certainly concerns which need to be addressed and this is often a final opportunity to avoid further enforcement action.
In this session we will review the questions under caution process and options for responding. We will include an example interview under caution to bring to life the issues being discussed.
