Pharmacy and Dementia Specialist Lead

I joined NASHiCS as a firm believer in sharing practice, experiences and learning together inside the organisation I work for and outside of it. Safe, supportive, good quality care is everyone’s responsibility and without doubt what those who live and work in care homes thoroughly deserve. The more we embrace sharing good practice and learning from events the greater opportunity we all have to shape care of the future and make sure it is fit for purpose for everyone.

I was appointed RMBI Care Co’s Pharmacy and Dementia Specialist Lead in 2016 to provide high quality dementia care in its care homes – A qualified pharmacist for over 40 years and special advisor to CQC, I have worked as a Community Pharmacist, Mental Health Lead Pharmacist and more recently dementia care.

In 2014 I was appointed a member of the British Empire for her dementia services, becoming programme guardian for care home medication and dementia with the College of Pharmacy Practice.

I specialise in dementia, medication management and clinical governance and is part of Lewy Body Society Specialist Advisory Committee.

I also support CQC care inspections as a special advisor.
